Home Networks using Named Data Networking
Summer 2012
This work was part of my internship with Huawei Research Center, Santa Clara CA. The goal of the project to use name-based networking (NDN) concepts in order to implement home networks. To this end, we developed zero-configuration node discovery and service discovery mechanisms, as well as a policy-based routing protocol, where the networking layer is aware of access control policies. We apply this techniques to demonstrate a fully functional home network consisting of a variety of devices that can seamlessly connect to each other without prior configurations.
